What to Expect

Arriving: Please plan to arrive about 20-30 minutes prior to your reservation to give yourself enough time to get parked and checked in. There may be heavy traffic on the way here, so be sure to plan enough travel time.

Note: If you will be traveling on I-25 between Colorado Springs and Denver please be aware there is a lot of road construction going on in that area currently that may slow down your travel time.

Checking-In: When you arrive for your cave tour or above ground adventure you will need to go to the Ticket Office to check-in. Do NOT go directly to the cave entrance or ride gate. Once you check in you will be given directions where to meet your tour guide and/or given wristbands and loading tickets to access the above ground adventures. If you have received the military discount you will be asked to show your Military ID at the time you check in.

Discovery Tour – ONLY: ALL ages can participate. Strollers and baby backpacks cannot be accommodated due to narrow passageways, low ceilings, and stairs. Front carriers are acceptable. There will be approximately 190 stairs spread throughout the tour trail, but you will only encounter 15-20 at one time going both up and down. There will be handrails located through the tour, the passageways are lit with electric lights, and all but one room of the tour is paved.

Haunted Lantern Tour – ONLY: Everyone must be at least 8 years old to participate. Bending down and shuffling your feet, while carrying an open flame lantern, will be required. Please expect shoes to get slightly muddy as the trails are NOT paved.

Expedition Caving & Spelunking Tour – ONLY: Everyone must be at least 13 years old to participate. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying, participating adult. Crawling, and climbing will be required during this tour so please expect to get muddy. There will also be open exposure, sheer drop offs, and tight spaces. Please wear comfortable clothing you won’t mind getting dirty or possibly ruined by the cave mud. Long sleeve shirts and long pants are required. You must also bring a pair of gloves, a change of clothes, and an extra pair of shoes. There will be a place to clean up and change after the tour so bring a change of clothes and extra pair of shoes to change into.

Above Ground Adventures: All the Above Ground Adventures and rides are weather permitting. The rides must close if it is actively raining or snowing, there is thunder and/or lightning in the area, or there are excessive high winds. The rides and Above Ground Adventures can usually reopen as soon as the weather clears up again. In the event weather does close the rides for longer than 15 minutes you may check back in with us to get your tickets rescheduled.

Pioneer Package: Everyone must be at least 42″ inches tall to go with a paying adult, or 48″ inches tall to go alone, weigh less than 300 lbs., and securely fit the harnesses to ride. Everyone must wear closed toed shoes that cannot fall off their feet. Everyone must wear either shorts or long pants as skirts CANNOT be accommodated due to the nature of the harnesses.

Terror-Dactyl: Everyone must be at least 48″ inches tall, weigh between 100 lbs. and 250 lbs., and securely fit the harness to ride. Two riders must weigh no more than 450 lbs. and must be within 100 lbs. of each other’s weight to ride together.

Via Ferrata Canyon Tours & Frontier Zip Lines: Everyone must be at least 12 years old, at least 48″ inches tall, weigh between 90 lbs. and 250 lbs., and securely fit the harness to participate. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying, participating adult. Everyone must wear either shorts or long pants as skirts CANNOT be accommodated due to the nature of the harnesses.
