Take the plunge
The first of its kind anywhere in the world, this ride sits on the edge of a 200-foot cliff in Williams Canyon in Manitou Springs. Those brave enough to ride will be launched over 150 feet into the canyon at nearly 100 miles per hour! The G-forces on this ride might make you feel a little silly and the free-fall drop will have you laughing and screaming at the same time!

What to expect
Once you are securely strapped in, you will free fall over 150 feet into breathtaking Williams Canyon. Your shrieks and laughs will echo through the canyon, but as you swing back and forth over the canyon floor, you’ll be planning to ride the Terror-dactyl again! Riders must wear either shorts or pants as skirts cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the harnesses.
Weather Policy:
If you have already purchased your tickets and the weather shuts down the Terror-Dactyl you can:
- After 15 minutes, present your ticket confirmation for a raincheck
- After ONE hour, present your ticket confirmation for a full refund
- Each Rider must be 48" tall
- Each Rider must weigh between 100 – 250 lbs
- Weight difference between two riders on same chair cannot exceed 100 lbs
- Combined weight of two riders on the same chair cannot exceed 450 lbs

Reservations are not required for the Terror-dactyl, however purchasing your tickets online can save you some time at the Ticket Office when you check in. Be sure to arrive at least an hour before closing to be guaranteed to ride, weather permitting.
We do not allow guests to bring cameras on the TERROR-dactyl due to the extreme speed and danger to you, other guests and to your equipment. We do have a camera that is securely attached to the ride and you have the option to purchase a video or photos when your ride is over.
