On our Lantern Tour, you’ll travel deep into the Manitou Grand Caverns, exploring passageways and formations lit only by the hand-held lanterns you carry! You’ll learn about the eerie history and folklore of Cave of the Winds as you travel through the dimly-lit Grand Concert Hall and Spider’s Den caverns. A Lantern Tour is the perfect way to step back in time – and step into adventure!

Our Lantern Tour is a 1.5-hour trek through rugged caverns and is ideal for more adventurous visitors. Stopping and shuffling is required, and wearing athletic shoes is highly recommended. Due to the physical requirements of the tour, children ages 5 years and younger are not permitted. The Lantern Tour is not recommended for pregnant women or persons with heart or respiratory problems.

Lantern Tour Hours & prices

Memorial Day Weekend-Labor Day Weekend: Daily from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tours leave on the hour. Additionally, during the summer, even-numbered hour Lantern Tour tickets (10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.) are available at our ticket office on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Winter Hours: Tours available Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
